This is a one day course designed for teacher's and support staff within an educational setting who want to develop greater confidence and understanding of mental health problems and how they can be approached.

The course is co-facilitated by a male and female BACP counsellor and psychotherapist. Both trained and experienced in working with children and young people and delivering workshops.

Maximum number of participants: 12

Lunch and refreshments provided.

Venue: Land Rover Sports and Social Club, Bilsmore Green, Solihull, B92 9LN.

Dates: TBC ( 9:00 am - 4:30 pm )

An Approach to Mental Health

Aims and Objectives:

  • Module 1: Understanding the development and challenges of mental health issues in children and young people in relation to social, environmental and familial factors.


  • Module 2: Developing understanding and strategies for working with children and young people with considerations to both behavioural and relational approaches. Based on principles of diversity, equality and social inclusion.


  • Module 3: Understanding limitations, self-care and personal boundaries when working with mental health.
